DZ-AZ DRIVER

FIELD OPERATIONS

ROLE

As a Licensed DZ/AZ Driver, you are responsible for the safe, professional operation of NPS vehicles across client-driven projects. Our fleet includes roll-off trucks, vacuum trucks, water hauling units, septic service vehicles, and portable sanitation equipment. This role requires sound judgment, strong situational awareness, and pride in representing NPS on the road and on-site. Operators work independently and as part of a crew in industrial, municipal, remote, and fast-paced environments.

Note: This is not a camp position. Accommodations are the responsibility of the applicant.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Safely operate NPS trucks, trailers, and related equipment in compliance with MTO, MOL, WSIB, and company standards.

  • Receive, understand, and complete dispatches including:

    • Waste and sewage pickup and disposal

    • Roll-off bin delivery, relocation, and return

    • Portable toilet delivery, servicing, and relocation

    • Potable and non-potable water hauling

  • Conduct thorough pre-trip, post-trip, and daily vehicle inspections

  • Accurately complete logbooks, CVOR-related documentation, and electronic reporting as required by NPS and MTO Ontario.

  • Maintain cleanliness and basic upkeep of assigned vehicles and equipment

  • Participate in yard, shop, and site maintenance tasks as required

  • Follow all company safety programs, site rules, and job-specific requirements

  • Maintain clear communication with dispatch, supervisors, clients, and crew members

  • Identify hazards, unsafe conditions, or equipment concerns and report them immediately

  • Represent NPS professionally with clients, site contacts, and the public

  • Support crew operations as required to keep work moving safely and efficiently

REQUIREMENTS

  • Valid DZ licence required (AZ licence is a strong asset)

  • Minimum 3 year commercial driving experience

  • Ability to provide a driver’s abstract (MVR) and maintain an acceptable CVOR

  • Ability to pass criminal background checks, drug & alcohol testing, and Fit Test for personal mask requirements.

  • Physically capable of performing job-related duties including handling hoses, equipment, and working outdoors

  • Comfortable working variable hours, on-call schedules, and changing site conditions

  • Legally entitled to work in Canada

  • Ability to speak, read, and write English fluently

TRAINING & CERTIFICATION

NPS provides required training and certification for the role. The following are considered strong assets:

  • Mine Site Training & Clearance

  • First Aid / CPR

  • Health & Safety Training

  • Confined Space Entry

  • Fall Arrest

WAGES & BENEFITS

Starting at $30.00/h (based on experience, certifications, and qualifications)
